Supersession of alternative products.

Hi Team, 

it would be great to have the following feature added to the system which is the parts get replaced by new parts with new numbers.

Warehouses want to sell off the old stock before selling new parts.

Customers may approach us with the new part number and we need to be aware that an existing old part number is still on the shelf and should be used first.

Under the current system, if we have the item in stock, then it will merely get inputted and sold, leaving the old part number behind on the shelf.

Any method to address this would be welcome.

A system that prioritises one part over another could be one method.

A new part number could be “suspended” or “on hold” – maybe this could be a status in between active and deprecated?

A more obvious alert in the alternative products feature:

“Warning – an alternative product for this SKU exists in stock.”

“Warning – an alternative product for this SKU with an older create date exists in stock.”
