DEAR WMS can be configured to either have all sale orders awaiting picking available to pick via the app, or only those orders that have been scheduled for picking ahead of time. You can also select how many orders must be picked per pick round and set a picker or pickers from your registered users. Sale order picking only applies to picking via the WMS app and does not affect sale orders that are not picked through the app. This is a Standard WMS feature and available to all users.

Configure WMS settings

Scheduled picking must be enabled from the DEAR WMS settings before orders can be scheduled for picking or assigned to pickers. If Sale order picking scheduled is set to All, WMS users will be able to pick any order ready for picking, and any number of orders at once.

  1. Go to Integrations → DEAR WMS to open the Warehouse Application Configuration.
  2. Set Sale order picking scheduled to Scheduled. This will immediately enable the Number of Orders per Pick setting.
  3. Number of Orders per pick should be an integer value greater than 0. This field sets the number of orders that must be processed in one round of pick.
  4. Scheduled picking does not mean that the pick, pack, or ship process is automated through WMS app. Sale orders must be scheduled for picking from the sales screen as shown in the next step.

NOTE: If Number of Orders per pick set to 10, the WMS user can pick only 10 orders at a time. If there are fewer than 10 orders scheduled for picking, the WMS user will not be able to start a pick round. If there are more than 10 orders scheduled for picking, the WMS user can pick only 10 per pick round.

Schedule orders for picking

Once sale order picking has been enabled, users with the Fulfillment - Can Schedule for picking permission can schedule orders for picking. This feature will only be available if you have selected scheduled picking in the WMS settings

  1. Go to Sale → Sales and select Fulfillment View
  2. Select one or more checkboxes next to an order to make the Picking button visible. The Picking button will only be visible when all selected orders have either the status Picking or Picking Overdue.
  3. Select Picking → Schedule for Picking. This will make these orders available for picking in the WMS app. The date and time that the order was made available for picking will now be displayed in the Selected for Picking column.
  4. Select Picking → Clear Pick Schedule to remove orders from the picking schedule. They will no longer be able to be selected for picking from the WMS app and the entry in the Selected for Picking column will be deleted.

Set picker

Once sale order picking has been enabled, you can set a picker from your registered users. This feature will only be available if you have selected scheduled picking in the WMS settings. Setting a picker is independent of scheduling an order for picking - clearing the picking schedule will not remove a set picker.

  1. Go to Sale → Sales and select Fulfillment View
  2. Select one or more checkboxes next to an order to make the Picking button visible. The Picking button will only be visible when all selected orders have either the status Picking or Picking Overdue.
  3. Select Picking → Set Picker. This will open a popup window. Select a picker from the dropdown list, or select Any Picker to clear picker selection.
  4. Click Continue to set the picker and return to the sales screen.

NOTE: The Picker column in Fulfillment View is not visible by default. You will need to click the Settings icon (gear) to open available columns and check Picker to make that column visible.
