Planned
Reorder up to Maximum Inventory Level, not fixed Reorder Quantity

started a topic over 8 years ago

It doesn't seem useful in our business for Reorder Quantity to be a fixed number. Instead, the quantity on a PO should calculated to be whatever is necessary to get inventory up to a "Maximum Inventory Level". If Stock Level is less than Minimum Before Reorder, then purchase Maximum Inventory Level minus Stock Level.

For example for a product:

Minimum before reorder is 50

Maximum Inventory Level is 100

Available is 30

Low Stock Reorder should create a PO for a quantity of 70.

  •  People investigating this bug should look at the new MRP tool in the Inventory menu.

It is the Tesla Model S of reordering.

    You can

    a) include draft documents if you want, to avoid creating duplicates

    b) when creating supply documents, it can go directly to authorised documents, to save time

    c) it creates POs, assemblies, production orders and even stock transfers

    d) you are not limited to demand based on sales orders: you can upload a CSV of forecast demand

    *** (e) *** you can choose to "Procure up to stock level", that is, up to your target stock level;

    f) it will explode through BOMs.

and like the steak knives on TV, there's more. It is a huge leap from the two reorder functions.

  • We are also looking to leave DEAR soon - if we find a package with half the functionality ( the practical half that most of us seem to use ) we could get this normal stock re ordering functionailty and probably save some money as well !

  • Where might you head to David Goode?

  • So 3 years along and adding this feature has progressed how far? Come on Dear, this should not be too hard.
