Phone Verification during the Account or Partner Registration Process

During the DEAR account or partner registration process, you are asked to provide a phone number that you will need to verify via either an SMS message or a phone call. Failure to perform this procedure might lead to unsuccessful registration. Thus, it is important that you provide a valid phone number, which can either be landline or mobile, during the registration.

Choosing the Verification Method

After entering a valid mobile or landline number during the account/partner registration process, you will need to select the verification method for your provided phone number. Regardless of your chosen verification method, have a pen ready so that you can write down the verification token and avoid errors during the entire procedure. In case you encounter an error, it might be because you entered the wrong verification token. Performing the procedure again often solves this problem.


Verification via SMS

With this method, you will be sent an SMS message with a verification token that you will need to enter to proceed with your registration. This method is only available to accounts that provide mobile phone numbers. If you provide a landline number, you will need to validate your phone number via a phone call.


To verify your phone number via SMS:

  1. After entering the required information during account registration, click the Verify via SMS button. This will trigger sending of an SMS with a verification token to your provided phone number.
  2. Enter the verification token in the box that appears below the Verify via SMS button, then click Verify Phone. This will then add your phone number to your account. After verifying your phone number, you can submit the registration form to DEAR.


Verification via Phone Call

With this method, you will receive a robocall with the verification token that you will need to enter to proceed with your registration. This method is available to you if you provide either a landline or mobile phone number. If you provide a landline number, verification via phone call is the only method available to you.


To verify your phone number via phone call:

  1. After entering the required information during account registration, click the Verify via Call button. This will trigger a robocall that you need to answer. Listen carefully and ensure that you write down the verification token.
  2. Enter the verification token in the box that appears below the Verify via Call button, then click Verify Phone. This will then add your phone number to your account. After verifying your phone number, you can submit the registration form to DEAR.
