Merging like inventory items together.

Hi,

We are quite new here and are a small wholesale company. We get 1000s of items from 3 or 4 different suppliers, all with slightly different SKU's and descriptions etc. 

We want to merge the items together so that the end result would be our Master SKU with 3-4 different suppliers listed showing their own SKU and price. 

I thought merging would be the best way to achieve this but it doesn't always seem to come across correctly. We always select the right master SKU, but it doesn't always bring the supplier info across.

Any thoughts or recommendations?
