Customers on Prepayment Terms

started a topic over 1 year ago

Does anyone have customers with prepayment terms that are using the WMS app?
How to you highlight to the warehouse team not to pick an order? or stop it from going to the app?
We do not have room to have many orders picked waiting to be shipped, any ideas how to deal with this?

  • We dont use WMS but we do have the same problem. Our current workaround is to enter the order as a sales quote, then we made created a Sales Quote template to look like an invoice, which we the issue the customer to pay from (another problem there though - if you have integrated payment platforms they generally don't cater for paying from a sales quote). This way the order stays as a sales quote until payment is completed, at which point it's processed through to an auth's Sales order for fulfillment. May not work for you and it's less than ideal, but currently our only workaround. Be glad to hear of better suggestions from others out there.

  • Using the Sale Quote for these sorts of situations has worked for a few businesses with whom I work.  We update the template to call it a Proforma Invoice (which is exactly what it is).

We have had success using using integrated payments systems like Stripe and Authorize.net to receive payment for Sale Quotes (Proforma Invoices).
