Pick, pack and ship when stock is unavailable in DEAR

A functionality we liked in Cin7 was being able to pick, pack and ship an order even if we do not have stock available. Subsequently, when the stock becomes available in the system it is then allocated to the order and completed automatically. I do understand that with products that have batch numbers it would complicate things but with products set up as FIFO, it should be possible?
