Accented Letters don't show up in search

Currently there is product language support for a few languages (Mandarin, Czech), but not for others. We have lots of products with accented letters such as the below:

• Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, Romanée-Saint-Vivant
  
• Domaine Confuron-Gindre, Côteaux Bourguignons
• Comte Georges de Vogüé, Chambolle-Musigny

The problem is that these are not searchable in DEAR. If we just use a 'plain' e for example, no accented e's show up - can this be improved at all, or can we enter both the local name and the foreign name (maybe more options could be added to the alternative languages such as German, French, Italian, Greek, Spanish and other European languages?
