Uploading Product photos to dear inventory

started a topic over 1 year ago

Can anyone share details of how they effectively create a bulk upload file for product images into dear?

I have managed to create the required csv file equivalent with images housed on google drive with active links to those jpg images, but when uploading to dear via the required import process I receive an error from dear that states "Invalid content is returned from URL (html page instead of image file) Please check that file is an image:"

Any feedback from other users who have had success from this function would be appreciated.  Including what service provider used to host the public product images.

  • Hi, Try this 1- Open Windows Explorer and find the photo (or document) in question. Hold down the Shift key, then right-click the photo. 2- In the context menu that appears, find and click Copy as path. This copies the file location to the clipboard. (FYI, if you don't hold down Shift when you right-click, the Copy as path option won't appear.)
  • To upload succesfully, you need to grab the file ID, and replace the remainder of the URL with the info below:

    https://drive.google.com/uc?id=YOUR-FiLE-ID-HERE

    And then it works!

  • Kindly follow these steps

    1. Generate public shared link of image file from google drive

     2. in next dialogue Google will show link like screen below, user need to copy only file's ID as highlighted in below screen cap i.e. 0BxYeyC0rK6cjb3hFcEZPOTFmQk0 from generated link

    3. use "https://drive.google.com/uc?id=" and your file id to make a complete url i.e.

    https://drive.google.com/uc?id=0BxYeyC0rK6cjb3hFcEZPOTFmQk0

    4. use link from step 3 in CSV for importing images in DEAR

We have attached a sample CSV having such urls added to it
