FAQs

I am seeing discrepancies between the values in Stock Level Report and the General Ledger/Balance Sheet. What is causing this?

The most common cause of discrepancy is stock which has been received but not yet invoiced or invoiced and not yet received. Inventory Accrual and Stock in Transit transactions can be enabled from the General Settings. You can check the Transactions VS Stock On Hand Difference Report to find this type of discrepancy.

Hello, when I look at the below two reports for my stock on hand value they are both coming up with a slightly different value. Can you explain why this would be? Product Stock Level Report and Inventory Movement Summary Report.

The Product Stock Level report shows the current stock level of all active products in all locations whereas the Inventory Movement Summary report shows the summary of stock movements in the specified From - To time frame together with the stock on hand value as of the To date field.  Inventory movement summary shows value from all products (not just all active products) which can also explain some discrepancies.

A product is not showing in Stock Level Report.

Check if the product in question has been Deprecated. Stock Level Report only shows active products.

If combination of number of active products * location count > 10000, the report will ignore setting to show zero quantities and will only show non-zero. This limitation was designed for performance considerations.

How can I generate a report for stock levels in a certain location?

Please refer to the "Product Stock Level" report. You will be able to filter out the location. See the below screenshot.

If you need stock levels to date wise, I would recommend the Inventory Movement Summary report.

How can I have the inventory with bill of materials show up on the Stock Level Report? Right now it's showing 0, but we have inventory if we account for the bill of materials that creates this item.

Stock Level Report will not include the Availability as per the available components of the bill of materials. On this report, the availability is based on the available physical stock or as per current stock level. Estimation as per available components of the BOM is only available in the Availability Report.

I need a stock list report that shows the Stock Locator Field

Stock Locator field is available in Inventory Movement Details report. Stock Locator Field is not currently available in Stock Level Report.

I was wondering if there was a way to add a date to the Stock Level Report. We are trying to get the levels at year end for tax purposes.

Try the Inventory Movement Summary report for this purpose. It will be able to show you the stock level of each SKU with the value of it as well.
